The Ernest Thompson Furniture Collections
We consider ourselves makers of fine, handcrafted furniture, rather than builders of a specific style. However, it would be hard to ignore the inspiration that living in the Southwest provides. The region is an area so rich in history and diversity that it unleashes an unlimited palette of design opportunities.
We enjoy seeing one of our French-inspired armoires fit seamlessly into a Scottsdale desert home. However, that same armoire may be just as attractive in a Colorado log cabin. Additionally, when we see one of our Mission dining tables in a Santa Barbara Spanish hacienda, we know it would work just as well in a Texas Hill Country ranch.
If pressed to label the “styles” that we build, we would describe them as:
- Spanish Colonial
- Rustic Contemporary
- Western
- Soft Modern
- European Country
- Ranch & Lodge
- Mission/Arts & Crafts
That’s why Ernest Thompson Furniture is not about one style but instead a fusion of many. We deliver to you beautifully crafted furniture that fits comfortably into your special lifestyle.

Our four furniture collections represent over 400 years of furniture-making in New Mexico. The artisans of Ernest Thompson use historical techniques, with skills passed down through generations of woodworkers. Our knowledge of this unique regional style stems from our passion, intrigue, curiosity, and appreciation for fine design.
